MINISTRIES

Community Outreach

The purpose of the ministry is to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of the mid-town community; to provide volunteer opportunities to the True Light family; to provide information for services and resources within the community.

Budget Committee

The purpose of this ministry is to provide oversight and direction for the church budget.

Courtesy Committee

The purpose of this ministry is  to assist and offer  guidance  and  spiritual  support  to  bereaved  families  of  True  Light  Baptist  Church in times of need and to keep the Pastor updated. The checklist includes programs, music, soloist, choir, repast, visitation, musician, etc.

Mission Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to instill in mission women to reach INWARD through mission study, education, fellowship, and prayer and to reach OUTWARD through personal witnessing, evangelizing, helping the needy and less fortunate all in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Youth Department

The purpose of the youth ministry is to give church youth an outlet and opportunity to serve on their level, while encouraging their commitment to Christ and the church.

Scholarship Committee

The purpose of this ministry is to enhance the educational experiences of our youth and community through means of education, training, nurturing their spiritual growth and teaching them Christian principles.

Sunday School Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to provide a teaching tool within the church. With the help of the Pastor, Christian Education Director, and Superintendents, the Sunday school is organizing to be a guide    for Christian growth. The Sunday School is working to enhance the spiritual maturity of the ministry.

Laymen Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to guide men into the knowledge of Christ.

Deacon Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to serve to the poor, the church, and the pastor. This ministry is an integral part of the church. Visiting the sick, helping in the up building of the kingdom of God, being taught and being able to teach within the Ministry of True Light.

Christian Education Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to support the church administration through educating membership about Christ.  This ministry works to enhance all teaching aspects of the church.

Usher Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to help connect people to God by creating an atmosphere of welcome and order anytime the church doors are open for guest and members.

Vacation Bible School

The purpose of the ministry is to bring to light, through biblical lessons and real-life application, the word of God. Thematic lessons, workshops, and activities are designed to provide children and adults from ages Pre-K through Senior Adults guidance in reading, studying, and applying God’s word.

True Light Couples Ministry

The purpose of the True Light Couples Ministry is to unite married couples through activities that: encourage a  Christ-centered  approach  to  strengthening  marriage,  allow  couples  to  interact  with and engage in discourse from couples in the varying stages of married life, exemplify and illustrate   God’s plan for building the family.

Trustee Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to work on behalf of the body under the administration of the Pastor and Deacon Ministry.  It also assists the Church in the care of all properties and buildings, manages the use of space and furnishing for Church activities,  acquiring property and creating space, and to administer work assigned to it.
